Take the opportunity to retreat without needing to pack a bag and travel out of Auckland and join us for a delicious 3 hour urban retreat at the beautiful Yoga Within studio in Auckland’s Browns Bay.

Your retreat facilitators are Clare Etherton and Jessica Devi who are both passionate about the softer side of yoga. Mindful supported resting offers us an antidote to our often busy and stressful lives and both Jessica and Clare believe these gentler practices are much needed in our lives today.

At the retreat we will delve into deep mindful resting practices and techniques that draw from yoga, movement therapy, mindfulness and traditional eastern practices. You can expect to feel supported, nurtured and nourished and to step back into life refreshed and rejuvenated.

Te Hine Ruru Retreat is located in Russell, Bay of Islands on the north-east coast of New Zealand. Set on 40 acres of native regenerated bush, this private waterfront estate encompasses headlands, coves and secluded shores.

Te Hine Ruru Retreat offers you the space and perspective to reflect on your normal daily life. Explore possibilities, dreams and changes, so you can go back home feeling energized, connected, and fully present.

Weekend packages range from $650-$750 per person
Small group gatherings, max 6 people.

YOGA
(Sat am and Sun am)
Daily morning yoga practice is a vinyasa-style class, 75-90 minutes.
Yoga classes are tailored to suit all levels; to support your yoga practice.
They may draw upon asana, pranayama, chanting and deep relaxation.

GUIDED MEDITATION
(Fri pm and Sat pm)
Meditation is held in the Yoga Space in the evening.
Practices vary to best suit the group and may include guided imagery, silent seated meditation, breathing techniques or mindfulness practices.

WEAVING THE STORIES OF OUR LIVES
(Sat 10.30am-1pm)
The ancient craft of flax weaving invites women of all ages to express themselves in a circle of community and participation.
Learn the “tikanga” or protocol of picking and preparation of local plant materials and the skills to turn them into beautiful “kete” or baskets.

ACCOMMODATION
The Guest Villa at Te Hine Ruru accommodates six in luxurious style. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, the interiors are beautifully-presented. The layout respects guests’ privacy whilst offering space to relax and join others. There are outdoor decks, stunning views and a track leading down to the private beach.

Facilities include:

Superior beds, king size singles configured as twin share
Egyptian cotton sheets
Separate bath
Fully-equipped kitchen
Towels and beach towels
Hammock
Complimentary use of kayaks, paddle boards and swimming raft
Collection of mind/body/spirit books & DVDs

MEALS
At Te Hine Ruru, we embrace a healthy lifestyle and all meals are based on vegetarian, whole food principles and include nutritious smoothies, juices, salads, main meals and some raw desserts.

Meals are presented buffet-style, for indoor/outdoor dining at the Guest Villa.

Join us to relax and restore our minds, hearts and bodies with other women in the Italian countryside. Led by 5 unique women, our intention is to uplift one another and practice the many ways we can bring more balance and ease into our lives. The retreat includes: first night in Rome, all meals locally sourced from surrounding farms within the retreat house, daily yoga and/or pilates, dance healing, meditation inspired by OSHO, journaling, inspiration circle, one night in a hotel with spa admission, plenty of personal time to spend at the beach or in the mountains.
