In this fun class, we will cover basic yoga poses and mindfulness in a hands-on way through mandala drawing, crafts, play and breathing. Children will learn focus, calmness, gratitude, kindness, self love, stress management and basic yoga asanas.

This term in our kids yoga classes we will be covering a variety of new yoga poses and start applying them to short sequences. To help children overcome distraction temptation, over stimulation and peer pressure we will be practising mindfulness through various methods of play and breath work. We find this helps children learn how to focus, find inner calm, gratitude, kindness and self love. Students love these classes, they feel relaxed and have a lot of fun while learning skills to equip them for life.
Ages: Children 9-12 years old

Fat yoga is about creating a non judgmental, open minded & body positive space for everyone.
We believe in making yoga accessible so our yoga classes are suitable for all bodies & fitness levels. Beginners are extremely welcome!
We believe that by giving visibility to the word fat, we can take back the power on a word that can be so destructive. Fat is just a descriptive word and everyone has their own relationship with the word. We want to contribute to changing the definition of what society has deemed beautiful, strong and flexible.

About the course
This 6 week course is for students of all levels – beginners are extremely welcome. You will explore the fundamentals of yoga & meditation in a relaxed, non judgemental environment where you’ll be encourgaed to go at your own pace. The course is taught by Yoga & Mindfulness teacher Kristina Cavit who believes that yoga is for everybody and is passionate about making yoga accessible for everyone. She loves teaching beginners & creating a safe, welcoming fun space. Kristina focuses on how yoga poses feel, rather than how they look.
This class will help you develop physical and mental strength, flexibility & vitality. Each class will include mindfulness meditation to develop calm & focus.

Developed by Swami Sankalpananda, this 6 week course has been designed to further your understanding of yoga both of a physical, mental and esoteric level.

Finish the course with a deeper understanding of yoga, allowing you to have a solid personal practice to work with. If you are considering doing a teacher training program, this course is a great ‘prequel’ to give you the advantage of a sound base knowledge of true yoga.

During our sessions, we will discuss the anatomy of the body and how that relates to your postures. We will examine some of the key postures of yoga, why we do them, correct movement and possible modifications you could make if needed. Each week we will also look at a pranayama (breathing) practice and discuss benefits and ‘how to’s’. An introduction to meditation will be included with ancient and simple practices to apply.

The course is for ANYBODY who loves working with kids, and loves yoga. It is for yoga teachers wanting to specialize, and educators wanting to bring the benefits of yoga to their classrooms. It’s also great for parents to find new ways to connect with their children and family, and share a healthy, fun, and non-competitive movement-based activity.

Family Yoga Class: Saturday 4:30pm
The Family Yoga Class is free and open to the public. Teacher Trainees are required to attend and encouraged to invite friends and family.
