Healthy Breathing = Healthy Living! Breathing is the most important thing that we do from the moment we are born. It is the body’s most vital process, yet we are often unconscious of it.How we breathe directly influences our brain function and the way our nervous system responds to our internal and external environment; thereby how we feel physically, energetically, emotionally and mentally, and how we perceive and interact with the world around us.
By becoming aware of our default breathing or breath holding patterns we become more conscious of our internal sense of being and of the link that exists between the quality of our breath, our state of balance, health and wellbeing and our mental and emotional response to situations we encounter in daily life. Tuning into our breath empowers us to take control of it when we need to and to establish healthy default breathing patterns that help us activate our nervous system’s relaxation response, reduce our stress levels and be healthier physically and mentally.
