Yoga For Youth

We are excited to offer teen yoga classes in 2020!
Yoga for youth has been shown to have many benefits including; increasing self awareness, body confidence, coordination, focus and flexibility and decreasing anxiety, perceived pressure, fears, overwhelm and feelings of discontent, depression or lethargy.
Yoga also supports young people to connect with themselves, develop breath awareness and learn techniques for reducing anxiety and stress. With pressure from school, sport and social interactions, being a teen can be thwart with challenge. Yoga can be helpful in countering and balancing the ‘plugged in’ lives young people experience these days.
Teen yoga classes are structured slightly differently to adult yoga and incorporate yoga postures, acro / partner yoga, breathing and movement creativity.
Our teen classes will run for a block of 6 weeks during term 1 of 2020 and are on offer for 12-16 year olds. If these classes are well received we plan to run a 6 week block every term.
Our first block begins on TUESDAY MARCH 3rd and runs until TUESDAY APRIL 7th.
The cost is $12 per class or $60 if you prepay for all 6 classes.
Our Teen Yoga teacher is Abbey-Lee. Abbey considers herself blessed to guide people into discovering their yoga and has been teaching beginners, teens and children for over 5 years now. Abbey is passionate about making yoga accessible to everyone and facilitating people through their yoga journey in a gentle, fun, friendly and open way. For Abbey, Yoga is about breath, movement and self growth, it’s non competitive, it’s about being in the moment and it helps us to create space in our minds and hearts.
